About the Project:
This historic building and campus allows students to live and study on the premises. It is a building that doesn’t sleep with full time kitchens and facilities in use, The building suffered ongoing blocked drains for many years to the sewer pipes.
The Problem:
Tree roots had entered the collars of the pipes in the main line which blocked the pipes and forced students to use other bathrooms in the premises. The pipes were the original clay pipes that were installed in 1867 and considering how large the trees were surrounding the building they lasted a long time.
How We Fixed It:
Using our high pressure water jet blaster we cleaned the pipe internally to remove all tree roots and debris to prepare the pipe for relining. With our Brawoliner Inversion lining method we relined over 40m of the 150mm pipe to seal the tree roots from returning.
