About the Project:
The school campus in Bellevue Hill is a well-maintained, historic building with manicured grounds and decorative ceilings, and it features the original style copper roof sheets and gutters.
The Problem:
The copper downpipe, which collects water from the roof, had a leaking joint where the new PVC pipe joined the existing copper pipe, which is now encased in a wall and not accessible. This was leaking from when it was originally installed, as it was a slow leak, it took a long time to find the problem.
How We Fixed It:
Due to the decorative column, replacing the pipe was not an option. To repair the pipe, we gained access to the rooftop and inserted a sectional reline to seal the defective joint. The work was completed in 1/2 a day with no disturbance to the students.
